Anette Björk Swensson
Anette Björk Swensson, born 1956 in Falun, currently resides in Stockholm. She is educated at the Art Students League in New York. Her art is multifaceted, she works with a refined interface between abstraction and the imagination; it is very much about lines and angles. Savvy, Anette relies on the geometric game in stairwells, facades, courtyards and gates and their encounters with the surrounding nature. With the light as a driving energy generator in a well-controlled painting.
She is also inspired by her daily travel in landscapes outside the city center, where the colour and contrast in the lights and shadows in the landscape plays a vital role in her paintings.
About her art Anette Björk Swensson says:
"THE MOMENT BEFORE THE NEXT MOMENT"
“With my paintings I try to convey the feeling of expectation that every moment can give. That maybe, maybe something happens that changes the outcome? Or, so only a still moment appears, and eventually give another still moment?
I often paint the familiar, the everyday that I have around me. For me, it is not the big events that create excitement in my life, instead every day is an opportunity to create something exciting. I just have to pay attention to every moment and give myself time to discover the excitement that exists in everyday life. It can be a line, a light inlet that creates patterns or a beautiful color that stands out, yes, really anything that arouses my curiosity and excitement."
